Problem: In rural areas in developing countries, the poorest people have the poorest land, farthest away from the water source. Climate change is making things worse. Solution: Plant carefully selected fruit trees, to provide shade and create a mini climate. Falling leaves enrich the soil. Once established, underplant the trees with other crops. Solving the family’s need for food, and some left over to sell.
